§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much is being spent on civil defence in (a) Liverpool and (b) Merseyside concerning a possible nuclear war.
§ Mr. HurdCivil defence planning must take account of the threat of conventional as well as nuclear attack. The latest estimates for the current year indicate civil defence expenditure in Liverpool of £2,551 and in Merseyside (a metropolitan county whose civil defence responsibilities include the metropolitan district of Liverpool) of £328,590.
