HL Deb 07 March 1984 vol 449 cc357-8WA
Lord Kilmany

asked Her Majesty's Government:

In view of the fact that before the United Kingdom can ratify the protocol to the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance as Wildfowl Habitat (Cmnd. 9113) it is necessary to obtain the agreement of all those United Kingdom dependent territories who were included in our ratification of the convention itself, which territory or territories have still to reply, when was a communication last addressed to that territory or territories, and what is the date of the most recent reply.

Lord Skelmersdale

Agreement to be included in the United Kingdom ratification of the protocol has now been received from all the dependent territories which were included in our ratification of the convention. The last communication addressed to the territory which had not replied was sent to Montserrat on 7th February, and its answer was contained in a letter dated 15th February. We can now proceed to ratification.
