§ Mr. Frank Fieldasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if any contracts have been awarded for the design or construction of the proposed new prisons at Swaleside, Garth, Bovingdon, Gaynes Hall, Featherstone, Milton Keynes, March, Lancaster, Bicester and Woolwich, and to which companies.
§ Sir George YoungNo contract for the construction of these prisons has been let, though an advance works contract in respect of the Swaleside prison has been awarded to A Monk and Company plc. A management contract has also been let to Bovis Construction Limited in respect of the Gaynes Hall prison. However, the following design consultants have been commissioned for the following new prison schemes:
