HC Deb 05 March 1984 vol 55 cc397-8W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the chief constable of Suffolk police on the checks made on Wednesday 15 February by police of vehicles of persons attending the Sizewell B inquiry at Snape; and whether any particular checks are being made of vehicles bearing anti-nuclear stickers.

Mr. Hurd

I understand from the chief constable of Suffolk constabulary that, in view of the extent of the interest in the Sizewell B inquiry at Snape, a small number of officers has been kept there by arrangement with the inspector. The police maintain security at the complex and check persons and vehicles entering or parking there, as occurred on 15 February. No particular attention is paid to vehicles bearing markings or stickers of any type.
