HC Deb 05 March 1984 vol 55 cc465-6W
Mr. Patchett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will itemise in the Official Report the job-training schemes and courses available for the disabled in South Yorkshire and their locations.

Mr. Alan Clark

All vocational training courses administered by the Manpower Services Commission are open to disabled people. Training specifically for disabled people is available under the training opportunities scheme at the Yorkshire residential school for the deaf, Doncaster, in office and computer skills, car work, painting and decorating, plastering and joinery. We also support a course in pipe welding at O'Neils Radiographers, Wakefield.

In addition, the employment rehabilitation centre at Handsworth, Sheffield, provides a wide range of industrial and commercial training for disabled people.
