HC Deb 02 March 1984 vol 55 c373W
Mr. Campbell-Savours

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment on what date the last discharge to the sea of radioactive material took place in the county of Cumbria in excess of the programmed and agreed arrangements for discharge; and what effects such discharges are expected to have on the coastline between Harrington and Allonby.

Mr. Waldegrave

Apart from the abnormal discharges last November, which are now being investigated by the Director of Public Prosecutions, there has been no evidence of any breach of authorisations. There are not expected to be any effects on the stretch of coastline mentioned by the hon. Member.
