§ Mr. Chris Smithasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made in respect of internal police inquiries following the Stagg-Steventon inquiry into the silver bullion robbery corruption allegations; whether any Metropolitan police officer is to face disciplinary proceedings as a result; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HurdI understand that this investigation has been completed and that the Director of Public Prosecutions has 541W advised that there is insufficient evidence to justify criminal proceedings against any officer. The question of possible disciplinary action is now being considered.
