§ Mr. Allan StewartThe table shows for the Dundee travel-to-work area the numbers of entrants to the youth training scheme during 1983–84, youngsters in training at 31 March 1984 and planned places for 1984–85. A local ad hoc survey in February 1984 showed that between 60 and 65 per cent. of youngsters leaving mode A schemes early had found jobs. The planned places for 1984–85 reflect the Government's policy of giving as many youngsters as possible direct experience of the working environment provided by mode A schemes.
