§ Mr. Allan StewartDuring the years 1981–82, 1982–83 and 1983–84 taken together, offers of assistance to the value of £230,000 were made by my Department to companies in the carpet industry in Scotland under section 7 of the Industrial Development Act 1982—formerly the Industry Act 1972. In 1981–82 two offers of assistance were made, to a value of £180,000. For reasons of confidentiality, detailed figures for subsequent years cannot be disclosed. Assistance was given in the form of grants.
