HC Deb 26 June 1984 vol 62 cc376-7W
Mr Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will estimate the amount and cost of the extra oil imported as a consequence of the mining industrial dispute; and what has been the reduction in United Kingdom exports of oil over the same period.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

I have been asked to reply.

The United Kingdom remains a net exporter of oil by a substantial margin. The coal dispute will not change this. Figures for United Kingdom oil imports and exports appear regularly in Energy Trends, which is published monthly.
