§ Mr Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will estimate the amount and cost of the extra oil imported as a consequence of the mining industrial dispute; and what has been the reduction in United Kingdom exports of oil over the same period.
377W
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithI have been asked to reply.
The United Kingdom remains a net exporter of oil by a substantial margin. The coal dispute will not change this. Figures for United Kingdom oil imports and exports appear regularly in Energy Trends, which is published monthly.
