§ Mr. Johnasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will refer to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission the proposed agreement to sell Duolite International Limited between Diamond Shamrock Limited and Rohm and Hass Company in view of the fact that the latter company will then produce 90 per cent. of ion exchange resins in the world.
§ Mr. Butcher[pursuant to the reply, 25 June 1984, c. 340]: The Office of Fair Trading is currently considering whether a qualifying merger is involved. If it is, my right hon. Friend will announce his decision as soon as practicable.
