§ 56. Mr. James Lamondasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received about amendments to the immigration rules.
§ Mr. WaddingtonSince the beginning of 1984 we have received about 60 letters on the general subject of immigration from right hon. and hon. Members, most of whom were writing on behalf of constituents, and about218W 140 such letters from members of the public. Some of these letters will at least have touched on amendments to the immigration rules, but it is not possible, without disproportionate cost, to give a precise figure.
