HC Deb 21 June 1984 vol 62 cc236-7W
Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will estimate the number of man weeks involved in the refit of HMS Plymouth.

Mr. Lee

I assume that the question relates to the damage repairs which were recently undertaken by contract. The work involved an estimated 14,000 direct labour man-hours. To convert this estimate to a man-week basis would require detailed consultation with the contractor, which is not possible in the time available.
