§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many engineering and science graduates will be trained under fixed contracts to industry and Government at the Cranfield Institute of Technology.
§ Mr. BrookeIn the academic year 1984–85 Cranfield Institute of Technology expects to teach 585 engineering and science students—most on degree courses—under a contract concluded with the Ministry of Defence under which the institute is assuming responsibility for the Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham. In addition, the institute expects to teach some 1,500 graduate level students on short courses arising from contracts with industry. Of these, roughly half will be in science and engineering and half in business and management studies.
