HC Deb 12 June 1984 vol 61 c449W
51. Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has any plans to send further surplus or outdated medical assistance to Poland.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

We are making arrangements for the provision of medical assistance to Poland through the charity, medical Aid for Poland Fund. Following a meeting with my noble Friend, the Under-Secretary of State, earlier this year, the fund has received from our Department supplies of medical clothing and also has been put in touch with health authorities wishing to dispose of surplus stocks of medical items. We have no plans at present to provide further supplies for Poland.
