§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he now expects an appointment to be made of a successor to Sir Kenneth Sharpe as head of the Government Accountancy Service; and if will make a statement on the delay in making this appointment.
§ Mr. LawsonThe Prime Minister has approved the appointment of Mr. Anthony Wilson — at present a senior partner in Price Waterhouse — as accountancy adviser to the Treasury and head of the Government Accountancy Service. Mr. Wilson takes up his period appointment on Monday 1 October 1984.
