(b) Support staff The council and associated national consultative committees and working groups are supported by a staff of 9½ whole-time equivalents drawn from both the Civil Service and the Common Services Agency of the Scottish Health Service. The gradings for the latter group do not correspond exactly to Civil Service grades. The staff comprises:

(c) Annual Budget The total annual budget for the Council and associated national consultative committees and working groups for the financial year 1984–85 is approximately £156,000, of which about £119,000 constitutes salary costs and £37,000 travel expenses and associated costs for members of the council and associated bodies. membership of the Scottish Health Service Planning Council, the dates of appointment of the members, the Civil Service grading of its support staff and its annual budget, including and excluding salaries.

The responsibilities and composition of the Scottish Health Service Planning Council are prescribed by section 5 of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978. We have no plans to alter this legislation.
