HC Deb 11 June 1984 vol 61 cc376-7W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will increase the resources of primary care provision so that a manual of prevention can be made available to all employed in that field.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

Health authorities must determine the level of funds that they wish to allocate for primary care and other services. A wide range of preventive and health education literature is already available, generally and to staff employed in the primary care field. A considerable amount of information is sent direct to general practitioners. It would not be practical to compile and keep up to date a single volume covering all prevention and health education issues.
