HC Deb 11 June 1984 vol 61 cc391-2W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will extend his review of the scheme applying to travelling expenses for patients attending a hospital or clinic to cover visits to a general practitioner's surgery.

Mr. John Patten

[pursuant to his reply, 7 June 1984, c. 275–0276]: We have asked for this to be considered in the context of the Department's study. The cost of extending the scheme in this way would need to be weighed carefully against other claims on the resources available to the National Health Service.
