Dr. Boyson

[pursuant to his reply, 7 June 1984, c. 276]: The Department's local office at Manchester (Cheetham), which deals with Manchester postal districts 8 and 9, received reports of the loss, theft, destruction or non-receipt of 148 locally issued benefit order books during the 12 months ended:5 June 1984. The local office at Failsworth, which deals with postal district 10 (but also with part of Oldham) received reports of 114 order books that had similarly gone astray. Records of the losses of order books issued by the Department's central offices at Newcastle and North Fylde are not maintained on an area basis.
