asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what prosecutions have taken place in the county of Cumbria of persons alleged to have committed drug offences; and in how many cases such prosecutions have proved successful.

During the period January 1981 to date, there were two prosecutions for customs offences involving drugs. Both were successful.
