Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what was the total tax yield from beer, spirits, wines and all alcohol, respectively, in the most recent annual period for which figures are available and for each of the previous five years, respectively; and what percentage the total alcohol yield represents of total Government tax revenue in each of these years;

(2) what was the total revenue from excise duty and value added tax, respectively, from beer, spirits, wines, and all alcohol, respectively, in the most recent year for which figures are available; and what were the comparable figures for each of the previous five years.
