Whether they are satisfied that the timetable, announced in 1982, for implementation of Part II of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 is being adhered to in respect of Phase 1 and whether they expect the successful completion of Phase 2 by July 1984, as set out.
§ Lord SkelmersdaleThe orders and regulations necessary to complete Phase 1 of the implementation programme will be laid before Parliament this month and those for Phase 2 later this year, in line with the timetable announced, in another place, on 13th March by my honourable friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Environment and Member for Bristol West in answer to a question from the honourable Member for Cannock and Burntwood. It remains the Government's intention that the main provisions of the Act should be in force by 1986, as originally announced [HOC, Vol. 56: Vol. 93.].
