HC Deb 11 June 1984 vol 61 c369W
Mr. Stuart Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs on how many occasions Cementation International has benefited directly from contractual arrangements made under the aid-trade provision.

Mr. Raison

Since the ATP scheme was set up in 1979 there has not been any case where Cementation International itself has benefited directly from contractual arrangements made under the aid trade provision. There was one case where an ATP funded technical co-operation consultancy, costing £188,000, was awarded to Cementation Projects Limited in Burma. Due to a misinterpretation of our records this project was not included in the figures I gave in my replies of 21 May at columns309 and 310. The figures should have read:

1979 1980 1981 1982 1983
Col. 309 which referred to the number of occasions on which the firms benefited
(c) Trafalgar House 0 0 0 1 0
Col. 310 which referred to the proportion of the number of all ATP contracts
(c) Trafalgar House 0% 0% 0% 7% 0%
