§ Mr. Stuart Hollandasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why, in his reply of 21 May, Official Report, column 310, about aid and trade, he referred to 13 contracts gained with aid-trade provision support while the publication "British Overseas Aid 1982'' records 12 such contracts in that year.
§ Mr. RaisonThe publication "British Overseas Aid 1982" did not include reference to contracts gained under technical co-operation arrangements funded from the aid trade provision. The 1983 version will include reference to such cases.
During the re-examination of the figures in my reply of 21 May, at column 310, it was found that the total number of contracts gained in 1982 should have been 14 and not 13 as previously stated. Our computer records had omitted 369W a case in Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom supplier for which was Pipework Engineering Limited, a subsidiary of British Steel.
