HC Deb 11 June 1984 vol 61 c332W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether the Government are now prepared to make the £100 million investment for a restructuring programme in the context of the phoenix II strategy, as proposed by the British Steel Corporation and Guest, Keen and Nettlefold for the future of the Brymbo steel works.

Mr. Butcher

My right hon. Friend is not yet in a position to estimate whether and, if so, at what level the Government will make a financial contribution towards the phoenix II proposals.
