§ Dr. Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment which of the respondents to the recent 24W consultation exercise on Cmnd. 9063 proposed or supported the principle of unitary plans in the town and county planning system in the metropolitan county areas now suggested in his revised proposals of 4 May.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinUnitary development plans were not proposed on the recent consultation exercise on Cmnd. 9063. These have however now been put forward as a response to those who requested a simlification of procedural requirements.
§ Dr. Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the 13 metropolitan district councils indicated in table I of his Department's report, dated 4 May, on detailed aspects of the responses to Cmnd. 9063, as being in favour of transferring responsibility for structure plans to borough and district councils.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe metropolitan district councils of Trafford, Stockport, Wirral, Rochdale, Bury, Sefton and the West Midlands districts committee, responding on behalf of metropolitan district councils in their area, all indicated they were in favour of transferring responsibility for structure plans to borough and district councils. In addition the metropolitan district of Bradford wrote, after the deadline for the submission of comments, indicating its support.
