§ Mr. Gerald Howarthasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how far the Development Commission has progressed with the identification of its new priority areas, the rural development areas, which will replace the existing special investment areas.
§ Mr. WaldegraveI am pleased to be able to inform the hon. Member that this morning, the Development Commission announced the new rural development areas. This follows the extensive consultation the commission has held with local authorities and others with rural interests. I am arranging for copies of the RDA map to be placed in the Library of the House.
