§ Mr. TrippierThe Department provides funds for the Minerals Strategy and Economics Research Group of the British Geological Survey, which gives an advisory service on the natural occurrence and distribution of minerals, and has published an account of silica sand resources in the United Kingdom. The Department also pays a small amount towards the cost of the geological land survey of the United Kingdom, which is work of general value to all mineral operators.
