HC Deb 04 June 1984 vol 61 c17W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what information he has received about the level of interference caused by unlicensed local radio stations to existing franchised stations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Baker

The only information my Department has received this year about interference to licensed United Kingdom broadcasts by unlicensed broadcasters related to interference to BBC services. In 1983 complaints were received from independent local radio stations in Sheffield and Guildford about interference from unlicensed stations which have since ceased operating.
