§ Mr. Cohenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will describe the computer programmes used by the national reporting centre during the miners' dispute and the data collected on any computer used by the centre;
(2) if he will list the computers used by the national reporting centre during the miners' dispute; and whether the centre has obtained computing equipment dedicated for its own use.
§ Mr. HurdThe national reporting centre has the use of a micro-computer which uses a spreadsheet program to maintain statistical tables on the provision of mutual aid from one police force to another; on the numbers of people picketing; and on the numbers of people arrested.
