HC Deb 04 June 1984 vol 61 c40W
.Dr Mawhinney

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on his policy towards the Korner commission recommendation that district health authorities or regional health authorities should maintain information on patients' attendance and nonattendance records for inpatient and outpatient appointments.

Mr. John Patten

As indicated in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Birmingham, Northfield (Mr.King) on 12 April at column381–82, my right hon. Friend has agreed that the recommendations of the steering group on Health Services Information, including those on records of patient attendance and non-attendance, should be adopted as the basis for future information for management in the NHS.
