asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he is considering any further amendments to industrial relations legislation in the current Parliament.

In accordance with our manifesto commitments the Trade Union Bill has already been carried through all its parliamentary stages. We will be consulting about the need for legislation on industrial relations in essential services.

We remain determined to take all appropriate steps to check abuses of trade union power wherever they occur.
