HC Deb 31 July 1984 vol 65 c182W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will estimate the cost of collecting the information about the numbers of physically handicapped hearing impaired, blind or partially sighted teachers referred to in the answer to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe, on 20 July, Official Report, column 356; and if he will now consider collecting such information centrally.

Sir Keith Joseph

The collection of this information would require a survey of all educational institutions, which could not be mounted without extensive prior consultation. Costs to the Department and to the institutions are difficult to estimate but would be substantial. I have no plans to collect such information.
