§ Mr. BrookeNo information is available on the incomes of parents net of income tax. It is estimated,182W however, that if the rates and scales of contribution to be introduced in 1984–85 for student awards were applied to parents' income net of income tax, assessed parental contributions would be reduced by around £70 million a year.
