HC Deb 31 July 1984 vol 65 c238W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if claims for severe disablement allowance will be directed to local offices of his Department, regional offices or a central unit; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what is the first date on which claims for severe disablement allowance will be accepted; what arrangements have been made to distribute information about the allowance and to invite claims; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newton

Claims for severe disablement allowance are to be directed to the Department's local offices. On present plans claims will be accepted from mid-September onwards, when a combined leaflet and claim form will be published. This will be backed up by a national advertising campaign
