§ Mr. Patrick JenkinLiverpool city council has an expenditure target for 1984–85 of £216.1 million. I understand it has adopted a budget of about £223 million. How this budget differs from any earlier budget resolution considered by it is a matter for the council, but the hon. Member may care to refer to the statement I issued on 11 July 1984 when I gave what seemed then to be the main changes from the earlier budget proposal of £261 million.
