Cash Limits (Hansard, 31 July 1984)

§ Mr. Skeet
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give revised cash limits for 1984–85 which take account of the carry forward of capital underspends in 1983–84 allowed under the end year flexibility schemes for central Government expenditure and for local authority expenditure.

§ Mr. Peter Rees
The new end year flexibility schemes for cash limited capital expenditure were announced on 7 July, at column 412, and 17 November 1983 at column526.
A list of revised cash limits is shown in the following table. Parliamentary approval for the changes in voted expenditure will be sought through Supplementary Estimates.
The total increase in cash limits in respect of end year flexibility is some £282 million. This sum is being met from the Reserve and will therefore not add to the public expenditure planning total.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will announce revised cash limits for the National Health Service for 1984–85 to take account of the pay awards to doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives and professions allied to medicine.
