asked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the latest position regarding the proposed new road scheme relating to the A47 trunk road at Wardley hill, Leicestershire; and whether he will make a statement.

Draft line, side roads and compulsory purchase orders are due to be published in October and November this year, and subject to their clearance after a public inquiry, construction work could begin in early 1987.
