HL Deb 30 July 1984 vol 455 c641WA
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish a list of the privileges which are normally available for prisoners segregated for reasons of good order and discipline, under Rule 43; and

Whether they will publish a list of the privileges which are normally available for prisoners segregated for reasons of good order and discipline.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Elton)

It would not be practicable to publish an exhaustive list of privileges available to prisoners removed from association under Prison Rule 43 for the maintenance of good order or discipline as these will vary between establishments depending on local circumstances. Efforts are made to provide these prisoners with those privileges which are consistent with their having been segregated.
