Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what area of land is owned by his Department in (a) England, (b) Wales and (c) Scotland; and if he will also express the figures as a percentage of the total land area of each country.

The Ministry of Defence owned the following land in England, Wales and Scotland on 1 April 1984:

representing 1.3 per cent., 1 per cent. and 0.2 per cent. respectively of the total area of each country.
