HC Deb 23 July 1984 vol 64 c487W
Mr. Jackson

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has received notice of any objection in respect of his most recent proposals for completing the dual carriageway on the A34 south of Harwell; and if he will now state the date on which he expects this work to be put out to tender.

Mrs. Chalker

We have received three objections to the published proposals for dualling the section of the A34 between East Ilsley and Chilton. The need for a public inquiry will be considered in the light of these, and any objections made to the draft compulsory purchase order for the necessary land, which we hope to publish shortly. Subject to the time required for these procedures, I hope that we shall be able to invite tenders during the second half of next year.
