§ Mrs. ChalkerAt average 1982–83 prices, expenditure on new construction of motorways and trunk roads in England was £535 million in 1982–83 and, provisionally, £494 million in 1983–84. The provisional outturn for local authority roads in 1982–83 was £397 million. It is not yet possible to provide a reliable forecast for 1983–84.
