HC Deb 09 July 1984 vol 63 c387W
Mr. Simon Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the loss of moorland to ploughing and afforestation in Wales per year.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

Available information suggests that the average loss of all types of rough grazing land in Wales over the period 1977 to 1983 is 10,200 hectares per annum. Separate figures for loss of moorland are not available.
