HC Deb 02 July 1984 vol 63 cc23-4W
Mrs. Clwyd

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will satisfy himself that the Welsh Arts Council fulfils the duty laid down in its charter of making the arts accessible throughout Wales and that this obligation is taken into account during the council's current policy review.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

Accessibility of the arts to the whole population was one of the prime concerns of the Welsh Arts Council in drawing up its development review.

Mrs. Clwyd

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of public funds entrusted to the Welsh Arts Council were applied to the valleys of Gwent and Mid Glamorgan in 1983–84.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

This information is not held by the Department. I suggest that the hon. Lady consults the Welsh Arts Council.
