§ Mr. Crouchasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he will be announcing quota allocations to milk producer-retailers and processors.
§ Mr. MacGregorDetails of the basis for the calculations of direct sales quota allocation were sent to all milk producers early in the week beginning 18 June following agreement being reached on a further Community regulation on 14 June. Final quota allocations will be made to direct sellers after information on levels of direct sales has been provided by producers, special cases have been dealt with and any appeals considered.
§ Mr. Hal Millerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that the arrangements for milk production quotas are capable of being enforced equally effectively by all European Community member states.
§ Mr. JoplingI attach great importance to the effective administration throughout the Community of the supplementary levy arrangements which the Council has agreed. At the Agriculture Council on 18–19 June, I stressed the need for all member states to implement the arrangements in accordance with the decisions of the Council. It would not be acceptable if some producers were required to pay the levy while some member states were manifestly failing to apply the agreed rules. I am pleased to report that the Agriculture Commissioner agreed with and supported my statement.
