HC Deb 02 July 1984 vol 63 c74W
Ms. Harman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much the four people who were in the Church road, Erdington, Birmingham, office at the time it closed and who were receiving payments from his Department were receiving under regulation 9 of the Supplementary Benefit Requirements Regulations 1983.

Dr. Boyson

I assume the hon. Member is referring to the closure of the old people's home in Church road, Erdington. The amount quoted in my reply on 26 June, at columns417–18, was based on assessments which included amounts allowed for board and lodging under regulation 9 as well as personal expenses allowances and other requirements. However, it is not possible to identify separately the items which payment of supplementary benefit is intended to meet in cases where claimants are also in receipt of income from other sources.
