§ Mr. NewtonComprehensive information about waiting lists at NHS hearing aid centres is not held centrally, but on the basis of the available figures for 31 May 1984 it is estimated that some 25,800 out-patients in England and Wales were waiting to have a hearing aid fitted or exchanged.
