asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what initiatives he intends taking specifically to reduce unemployment levels in Dundee.

Dundee is already receiving the highest degree of priority from the Government. The area has special development area status and six key sites within the city are included in the Tayside enterprise zone which was designated at the beginning of this year. In addition, we are, through the Scottish Development Agency, supporting the £8 million Blackness and £40 million Dundee projects.
