HC Deb 02 July 1984 vol 63 cc69-70W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action he intends to take to resolve the dispute involving computer operators at his child benefit centre.

Dr. Boyson

As I replied to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Riverside (Mr. Parry) on 18 June, at column 58, I deplore the fact that the unions concerned broke off negotiations to call this strike which they have now spread to the child benefit centre at Washington. An early resolution would be in the interests of all claimants affected.
